Drawing inspiration from the amazing African American women quilters of Gee’s Bend, Alabama and the AIDs memorial quilt project that is considered the largest community arts project in history, we will create a collective quilt called a “Friendship Quilt”.
By creating standard quilt blocks we will learn the foundation of piecing by hand and utilising block patterns. Participants will work on the collective friendship quilt whilst also completing a mini-quilt to take home.

Workshop schedule: October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 from 14:30 until 17:30
