De Voorkamer Radio Spring 2026

Together with Stranded FM, De Voorkamer community members explored radio-making and brought their own stories to the airwaves

For several years now, De Voorkamer has been collaborating with Utrecht-based radio platform Stranded FM to organise beginner-friendly radio courses twice a year. During these courses, De Voorkamer community members learn the basics of radio-making and put their new skills into practice by creating and broadcasting their own live radio shows.

This spring, over the course of four weeks, a group of 13 participants explored every stage of the radio-making process, from developing ideas, writing scripts, and conducting interviews to working with studio equipment, selecting music, and producing a live broadcast together.

The project offers our community a chance to share their creativity, stories, and perspectives beyond the walls of De Voorkamer. It creates space for voices that are too often unheard or underrepresented in mainstream media, while giving participants the tools and confidence to tell their own stories.

The radio shows created during this edition explored a wide range of themes, including memories of home, music and migration, femininity and intimacy, public swimming pool soundscapes, and the poetry of everyday life.

You can listen to the final broadcasts on Stranded FM's SoundCloud.
