De Voorkamer is a volunteer-based project. Together with community members, we organise creative activities, workshops, cultural events, language cafés, jam sessions, community spotlights, women-only events, co-creative exhibitions, storytelling events, and much more. All created by and for our diverse community.

We are always looking for more people to be involved! Your role at De Voorkamer is shaped by you and together we find what works best. If you have an idea that would resonate with us, reach out!

Do you want to be involved in a specific project? Are you not sure what would fit you and you want us to think along with you? Send us a short message and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

Please note: You don’t necessarily need to volunteer to be part of our community. You’re always welcome to join our activities and spend time at De Voorkamer. This form is for those who’d like to get involved as an Active Community Member (ACM). ACMs usually join a specific project or activity based on their interests and where support is needed. We recommend getting to know some of our existing projects first to get a better sense of what you’d like to be part of.

Questions before you join

Do I need experience?

No. Some roles need specific skills, but many ways of joining start with curiosity, time and care for people. We will look together at what fits.

Can I join if I do not speak Dutch?

Yes. De Voorkamer is multilingual. English, Dutch and other languages are often used, and many activities welcome people who are still learning a language.

Can I bring my own project or workshop?

Yes. Share the idea with us first, including who it is for, what support you need and how it connects to our community.

Can organisations collaborate with De Voorkamer?

Yes. We work with cultural, social and educational partners when the collaboration adds value for our community and fits our space.
